    Virendra Gahwai, Mungeli. After the accident on Thursday at Kusum Steel Plant in Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh, the rescue operation was going on continuously for about 36 hours, in which the district administration was proving unsuccessful, but now the administration has got success. The 80 tonne silo tank has finally been removed, after which the efforts to rescue the workers trapped under the debris have intensified. Meanwhile, bodies of two laborers have been recovered. Although this has not been officially confirmed. Along with this, the search for one more laborer is going on. At the same time, there is resentment among the family members of the workers against the administration and they have objected to the delay in rescue work.

    Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saav also reached the spot late in the night. He has promised to provide all possible help to the families of the workers and also to investigate the matter and take strict action against the culprits.

    3 workers died so far in Kusum Steel Plant accident

    A heavy silo (storage tank) suddenly collapsed at Kusum Smelters Private Limited Power Plant on Thursday around 01:09 pm. In the accident, 4 laborers were buried under the silo tank. On the spot, a laborer, Manoj Kumar Dhritalhare, was rescued and admitted to a private hospital in Bilaspur for treatment, where he died during treatment. At around 11.30 pm, NDRF, SDRF and the district administration removed the heavy silo and the bodies of two laborers buried under the debris were recovered. The search for another laborer is going on. At present, the two laborers whose bodies have been found are being identified. But this has not been officially confirmed.

    FIR registered against manager and in-charge of Kusum Steel Plant

    After the accident, crime number 02/25 under Section 106(1),289,3(5) of BNS has been registered against Kusum Plant’s Operation Manager Anil Prasad, Incharge Amit Kedia and other managers and taken up for investigation. Investigation is continuing in the matter.
