Union Minister Chirag Paswan stated that he might consider contesting the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections to improve the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas)’s strike rate, but he has no aspirations for the Chief Minister’s chair. He clarified that a better strike rate for his party would benefit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Paswan also denied any intention of seeking the CM’s position, expressing regret over attempts to create misunderstandings within the alliance. He mentioned that the decision to contest the election would be made by his party’s parliamentary board. Paswan also pointed out that even the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) often fields its national leaders in state elections. He added that he anticipates the NDA, under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, will form its strongest government yet in Bihar after the elections. Paswan revealed that his party will kick off its election campaign with a rally in Arrah, the headquarters of the Bhojpur district. Speculation suggests he might choose a constituency in the Shahabad region. The party plans more rallies, each covering five to six districts, before the election.
