Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha have been remanded to 13 days of judicial custody by a district and sessions court in Shillong, Meghalaya, in connection with the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. The police did not request custody, leading the court to grant the judicial remand. Earlier, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand were also placed in 14-day judicial custody. The arrests followed the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was on his honeymoon in the state. His body was discovered in a gorge near Sohra (Cherrapunji). The police SIT reconstructed the crime scene, with the accused present, to understand the events leading up to the murder. According to authorities, the reconstruction was successful and provided a clear picture of the events. A machete used in the crime is still missing and the police are working to recover it. The victim’s phone was damaged by Sonam and Vishal after the murder.
