    Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao participated in the mass yoga session held in Mungeli district headquarters on International Yoga Day. He practiced yoga alongside MLA Punnu Lal Mohle and senior district administration officials. The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated at the district level in the Adarsh Krishi Upaj Mandi complex of Mungeli, themed as “Yoga Sangam, Harit Yoga”. Yoga instructors Vivek Kesharwani and Purushottam Jaiswal led the practice of various yoga asanas, including pranayama.

    Addressing the yoga session, Deputy CM Arun Sao emphasized that yoga is crucial for a healthy body and mind in today’s hectic life. He stated that a healthy, balanced, and disciplined life is possible through yoga. He noted an increasing inclination towards yoga among people and urged those present to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for physical and mental well-being.

    MMLA Punnu Lal Mohle said that yoga brings peace and self-satisfaction, keeping individuals away from various diseases and disorders. He thanked the district administration for the grand event on Yoga Day.

    The district-level yoga session was attended by Mungeli Zila Panchayat President Shrikant Pandey, Collector Kundan Kumar, Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel, Divisional Forest Officer Abhinav Kumar, Additional Collector Nishtha Pandey Tiwari, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Panchayat Prabhakar Pandey, Mungeli Municipal President Rohit Shukla, Vice President Jaiprakash Mishra, along with public representatives, dignitaries, and students.

    Following the mass yoga practice, the guests planted saplings at the Krishi Upaj Mandi complex under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Under the theme of “Water, Forest, People, a Natural Management,” Deputy CM Arun Sao planted a Bahera sapling, conveying the message of environmental protection and promotion. He termed the tree plantation on International Yoga Day an innovative initiative and encouraged the general public to plant more trees. MLA Punnu Lal Mohle planted a Peepal tree, and Zila Panchayat President Shrikant Pandey planted a Bahera sapling, motivating people for tree plantation.
