A significant step has been taken to strengthen healthcare services in Bihar. Health Minister Mangal Pandey inaugurated a drug control laboratory at the GNM Training Institute, NMCH, Agamkuan, Patna, with an investment of ₹30 crore. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and will allow for the quality testing of medicines and food products within the state.

Previously, samples were sent to cities like Kolkata for quality checks. Now, Bihar will no longer need to rely on other states for these tests. The new facility will save time and enable timely action.

The laboratory houses 28 modern pieces of equipment, enabling micro-level examination of drugs and food items. This facility will make the state self-reliant in the health sector, technologically advancing the health department.

Health Minister Mangal Pandey stated that this laboratory ensures health security for Bihar’s 13 crore people, guaranteeing access to quality medicines. This initiative will reinforce the public’s right to health and supports the central government’s vision of a ‘Safe India, Healthy India.’ The inauguration was attended by Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Pratyay Amrit, MD of BMSICL Divesh Ramchandra Devere, and other officials and leaders.
