A severe traffic jam lasting 32 hours has caused chaos on the Indore-Dewas stretch of the Agra-Mumbai National Highway, resulting in the tragic loss of three lives. The gridlock, stretching approximately 8 kilometers, was triggered by overbridge construction and the diversion of a service road near the Arjun Baroda area. The situation was exacerbated by continuous heavy rain, which created large potholes on the service road. Victims included Kamal Panchal (62) of Indore, Balram Patel (55) from Shujalpur, and Sandeep Patel (32) of Gari Pipalya. Kamal Panchal reportedly fainted after being stuck in the jam for about an hour and a half and was later declared dead at a private hospital in Dewas. The other two victims suffered from heart attacks. Authorities have begun accelerating the construction of the service road, and traffic is being diverted through alternate routes.
