The India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates an intensification of the monsoon across various regions of the country in the coming days. The IMD has issued warnings for extremely heavy rainfall to persist over Northwest, Central, East & Northeast India for the next seven days. Intense downpours are expected in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh on June 30th, 2025.

After enduring scorching heat throughout June, Delhi residents may finally experience respite. The Met Department has issued a yellow alert for rain on Sunday and Monday. Several parts of Delhi/NCR received heavy showers on Saturday evening, providing much-needed relief.

According to the latest IMD press release, conditions are becoming favorable for the further advancement of the Southwest monsoon over the remaining parts of the country in the next two days. Warnings have been issued for heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh from June 28th to July 4th; Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh from June 29th to July 2nd; West Rajasthan on July 3rd and 4th; and East Rajasthan from July 1st to 4th. Residents are advised to carry umbrellas.

Other affected areas include Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand & Odisha from June 29th to July 4th; Vidarbha on July 1st and 2nd; Andaman & Nicobar Islands on June 29th; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim from June 30th to July 2nd; Gangetic West Bengal from June 29th to July 1st; and Bihar from June 29th to July 4th.
