In a strategic move to accelerate infrastructure advancement near the Noida International Airport, the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Corridor Development Authority (UPEIDA) has placed a complete ban on land sales and purchases along the proposed 74.3 km expressway. This expressway is designed to connect the airport to both the Ganga Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway, forming a crucial link between three key transportation projects in the state. Following UPEIDA’s directive, officials have emphasized that any violations of this order will be met with strict action.

The Ganga Expressway, a project valued at Rs 4,000 crore, will link Meerut and Prayagraj. The new link expressway is planned to commence from the Syana area of Bulandshahr and terminate near Film City in Sector-21, close to the Yamuna Expressway. This route is considered critical for enhancing both passenger and logistical connectivity within western Uttar Pradesh.

In line with the authority’s order, administrative officials from Noida and Bulandshahr are currently conducting surveys to identify the designated land and proceed with its acquisition or control.

Under the revised plan, the expressway will have a width of 120 meters, and the route has been modified to avoid already developed areas of Yamuna City. The expressway will now traverse 56 villages, including 8 in Noida and 48 in Bulandshahr district. Key villages impacted include Mahndipur Bangar, Bhaiyapur Brahmanan, Rabupura, and Myana (Noida), as well as Amanullahpur, Kapna, and Bhagwanpur (Khurja tehsil). Furthermore, many panchayats within Syana and Shikarpur tehsils will also be affected.

YEIDA officials have emphasized the project’s significance for regional industrial and economic development. They anticipate that this expressway will facilitate efficient cargo transport from Noida Airport to industrial zones in Yamuna City, such as Sectors 28, 29, 32, and 33. A senior official stated that this initiative will greatly improve passenger and freight connectivity between Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, and Prayagraj, while also reinforcing the logistics network.

Additionally, plans are underway to connect this expressway to NH-34, although a detailed plan is still in development. This project reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure, similar to the recent addition of a 66-km section on the Delhi-Jaipur route, which decreased travel time by an hour and affected 56 villages.
