    Jharkhand to Recruit 3181 ANMs: JSSC Announces Vacancies, Ranchi to Have Highest Posts

    Jharkhand will see the recruitment of 3181 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), encompassing both regular and backlog vacancies. The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has issued an advertisement for the ANM Competitive Examination-2025 to fill these positions, with 3020 regular and 161 backlog vacancies. According to the examination controller, candidates can apply online, meeting the eligibility criteria and age limits specified in the detailed notification. The application process dates will be published on the commission’s website soon. The district-wise distribution of ANM vacancies is as follows.

    Backlog Appointments:

    The following districts will have appointments under the backlog vacancies: West Singhbhum (09), Giridih (83), Latehar (15), Godda (13), Palamu (15), Sahibganj (01), Dumka (12), and Seraikela-Kharsawan (13).

    Examination Fee:
    The examination fee is Rs 100. For Scheduled Tribes/Scheduled Caste candidates of Jharkhand, the fee is Rs 50. Candidates with 40% or more disabilities in Jharkhand are exempt from the fee. Applications may be rejected if candidates from categories other than Scheduled Tribes/Scheduled Caste residents of Jharkhand pay the reduced fee.

    Exam Mode:
    The JSSC will conduct the examination in a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam will consist of one phase (main examination). All questions will be objective and multiple-choice. Each question carries one mark. There will be no negative marking. The language of the exam will be Hindi/English. The main exam duration will be one hour (60 minutes), with a total of 50 questions. Candidates scoring below the minimum qualifying marks will not be included in the merit list. The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for the unreserved category, 32% for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and women, 34% for Extremely Backward Classes (Schedule-1), 36.5% for Backward Classes (BC-Two), and 30% for Primitive Tribes, but this minimum requirement will be relaxed for contract workers who have completed a minimum of five years of service.

    Merit List:
    A merit list will be prepared based on the written examination, matriculation, intermediate, technical training, and work experience. The written exam carries a maximum of 50 marks, technical training a maximum of 10 marks, educational qualification a maximum of 40 marks, and work experience in government hospitals in Jharkhand (five marks per completed year) a maximum of 50 marks, totaling 150 marks. The merit list will be formed based on the total marks obtained.
