Uttarakhand CM Dhami Seeks Modi’s Guidance for State’s Development

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, seeking counsel on various facets of Uttarakhand’s progress. Dhami expressed appreciation for the central government’s backing and highlighted Uttarakhand’s commitment to contributing to a Developed India by 2047, under the Prime Minister’s leadership. Dhami presented Modi with a replica of the Kartik Swami Temple, a coffee table book on the Adi Kailash Yatra, and an array of local products including ghee, rice varieties, black cumin, herbs, and honey. He requested infrastructure development for the Haridwar and Rishikesh Ganga Corridors, and the Sharda Corridor in Champawat, emulating the successful Kedarnath and Badrinath models, using CSR funds. Furthermore, he proposed converting Nepa Farm into a semiconductor hub, extending the RRTS to Haridwar, and incorporating rail route provisions for the Tanakpur-Bageshwar and Rishikesh-Uttarkashi projects. He also discussed the Nanda Raj Jat Yatra in 2026, requesting financial aid and environmentally sound infrastructure. Dhami also sought funding for the 2027 Mahakumbh preparations in Haridwar, the approval of a DPR for power line undergrounding and system automation in Rishikesh and Haridwar, and the restoration of Chaurasi Kutiya. The CM also proposed the Pindar-Kosi river link project for improved water access and urged approval for five hydropower projects. The Prime Minister inquired about various initiatives, and assured full support for Uttarakhand’s development.
