CPI(M) leader John Brittas criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, for his recent comments regarding the ruling party in Kerala. Brittas alleged that the Kerala Congress has formed an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He stated that Gandhi should focus on uniting secular forces rather than creating division. These remarks came after Gandhi stated he is ideologically opposed to both CPI(M) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Brittas highlighted that the Kerala Congress’s actions align them with the BJP in the state. The controversy began when Gandhi asserted that both RSS and CPI(M) are disconnected from public sentiment. Gandhi added that he fights both organizations on ideological grounds due to their perceived lack of empathy. Brittas was in Delhi for an all-party meeting preceding the Parliament session. The INDIA opposition bloc plans to raise concerns in Parliament, demanding Prime Minister Modi address critical issues. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi expressed hope that Modi will provide clarity on matters including the Pahalgam terror attack and the Election Commission’s functioning. The monsoon session of Parliament is scheduled to continue until August 21.
