Former Australian cricketer Brad Haddin discussed the India vs. England series, which concluded at 2-2 after Mohammed Siraj’s outstanding performance in the fifth Test. A key observation made by Haddin was that India possesses the capability to perform even without their ace pacer, Jasprit Bumrah.

During the final day of the last Test, with England needing only 35 runs for victory, Mohammed Siraj changed the game for India. He secured a crucial breakthrough for India, taking his second five-wicket haul in the series and leading India’s pace attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah played in only three Tests to manage his workload, leading Haddin to remark that there are numerous bowlers capable of filling in for him.

“India, they can take a lot out of the fact that they can still play without Bumrah. His life goes on if the other bowlers find a way. They have got so much talent over there in India. But he didn’t win a Test match,” Haddin commented on the LiSTNR Sport YouTube channel.

Haddin highlighted Siraj’s inclination to take charge as the leader of the bowling attack. He emphasized Siraj’s desire to bowl in critical moments. Haddin acknowledged that Siraj makes mistakes but does not shy away from the pressure. He added that players like Siraj, who aren’t afraid to err and aim to impact the opposition, are invaluable. He concluded by noting Siraj’s eagerness to bowl in the final hour and downplaying a missed catch, emphasizing that the entire Test match shouldn’t be defined by a single error.
