Speculation surrounding the IPL 2026 trade window has linked Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with a potential move for Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson. While the trade window has been open for some time with various rumors circulating, there has been no substantial movement. Reports suggest that CSK made an offer, but it didn’t align with the Royals’ management’s expectations. CSK is reportedly unwilling to release any of their core players, despite rumors suggesting possible trades involving players like Shivam Dube and Ravichandran Ashwin. If CSK is determined to acquire Samson, the IPL 2026 auction appears to be the most probable route. His valuation could exceed 20 crore rupees, considering the 18 crore rupees retained for the 2025 season. Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad and MS Dhoni are currently in Chennai, discussing the team’s plans. Despite a disappointing 2025 season, CSK seems inclined to maintain faith in their current squad, as the franchise underwent a significant roster overhaul at the previous auction.
