Following their victory in the final Test match of the series at the Kennington Oval, the Indian cricket team made a visit to the England dressing room. India won the match by six runs, with significant contributions from all the Indian players. Karun Nair, a batsman for India, revealed this detail and explained the reason behind the team’s gesture. He mentioned that both teams acknowledged the series as a highly competitive one.

Nair noted that the team did not celebrate the win excessively in the dressing room immediately after the match. Instead, the Indian players went to the England dressing room for a conversation with the English players. Both sides felt the series was a memorable contest. England’s head coach, Brendon McCullum, described it as one of the best series in recent times. Nair reflected that while the players might not have fully grasped the series’ significance during the matches, the overall experience highlighted their achievements.

The first Test match between England and India was held in Leeds, where England secured a victory. India won the second Test, while England won the third. The fourth Test ended in a draw. The fifth Test match was won by India, with the Indian bowlers putting up a strong performance to dismantle England’s batting lineup.

Karun Nair was given the opportunity to play in the first three Test matches against England. However, he didn’t score significantly in those matches and was subsequently dropped from the playing XI for the fourth Test. Due to Rishabh Pant’s injury, Nair was brought back into the team for the fifth Test, where he scored 57 runs. His contribution helped India to score 224 runs in the first innings. England was bowled out for 247 runs in their first innings, and India then scored 396 runs in their second innings.

England needed 374 runs to win but managed only 367. On the final day of the match, England needed 35 runs with four wickets remaining. Mohammed Siraj’s outstanding bowling played a crucial role in India’s victory, taking a total of 9 wickets in the match. India’s next Test series will be against West Indies in October, featuring two matches.
