    Sholay, a historical film in Hindi cinema, directed by Ramesh Sippy, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, is set to be screened in Toronto, 11,600 kilometers away from India. The film, which was released in 1975 and remains popular, will be shown at the Toronto Film Festival. The Film Heritage Foundation shared this news via social media. The screening is scheduled for September 6th during the Toronto Film Festival, which runs from September 4th to September 14th. The film will be presented in a 4K version to celebrate its 75th anniversary. The screenplay was written by Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, and R.D. Burman composed the music. Dharmendra played Jai, and Amitabh played Veeru. Amjad Khan’s character, the dacoit Gabbar Singh, also gained immense fame. His dialogue, “Kitne aadmi the?” (How many men were there?), is still famous today. Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan played the female leads. Other stars like Sanjeev Kumar, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Mac Mohan, and Asrani also appeared in the film. According to Sacnilk, the film’s production cost was 3 crore rupees, and it broke box office records, grossing 50 crore rupees worldwide. The net collection from India alone was 15 crore rupees, a massive achievement for a film 75 years ago.
