West Indies secured a historic series victory against Pakistan, winning the ODI series 2-1. Despite Pakistan’s initial win in the series, they lost the subsequent two matches. The lackluster performances of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in these matches drew criticism from former Pakistani cricketers. Basit Ali, a former player, suggested that they should focus on advertisements instead of playing cricket. In the final match against West Indies, the entire Pakistani team was bowled out for a mere 92 runs in 29.2 overs, resulting in a significant 202-run defeat. Both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan had poor showings, with the former scoring only nine runs and the latter failing to score at all. Ali expressed his disappointment, stating that the players are living off past performances and do not listen to the coaches, but only pretend to do so. Babar Azam averaged 18.66 with a strike rate of 62.22, scoring 56 runs in the three matches. Mohammad Rizwan scored 69 runs at an average of 23 and a strike rate of 63.88, including one half-century. Their performances in ODI cricket have been declining.
