A nurse was discovered deceased at a nursing home in Hooghly district, West Bengal, on Friday. Authorities found the woman’s body suspended from the ceiling within the facility. The 24-year-old woman’s body was located on the third floor of the nursing hostel in Singur. Family members of the deceased allege she was sexually assaulted and murdered, claiming she had brought to light operational irregularities at the nursing home. Conversely, the nursing home management denies these claims and asserts the woman died by suicide. The woman had been employed at the nursing home for only four days. A senior police officer has stated that further action will be determined pending the autopsy report. Separately, a bus accident in East Burdwan, West Bengal, resulted in the deaths of ten individuals and injuries to 25 others on Friday. Among the injured, five sustained serious injuries. The victims were returning from Ganga Sagar when the accident occurred.
