The countdown to the Asia Cup 2025 has begun. The tournament will commence on September 9th, and teams are intensely preparing. Eight teams will participate, including Bangladesh. This year’s Asia Cup will be in the T20 format, prompting Bangladesh to bring in power-hitting coach Julian Wood some time ago. He has joined the team and is training players with special equipment.

Bangladesh’s unique practice involves using a ProVelocity bat to enhance the cricketers’ power-hitting abilities. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently appointed Julian Wood, an English power-hitting coach, to improve their cricketers’ power-hitting skills. He is now training cricketers in Bangladesh with new and modern equipment. A photo of this training has gone viral on social media, showing Julian Wood coaching Bangladeshi player Litton Das with a heavy rod.

The ProVelocity bat is typically used by baseball and softball players for practice. It helps improve hand-eye coordination. The ProVelocity bat is around 32 inches long and weighs around 1190 grams. A Bangladesh batsman mentioned that using the ProVelocity bat is a new concept and they are enjoying the sessions with Wood. In a recent video shared by BCB, Wood instructed Bangladesh’s T20 captain, Litton Das, to play shadow shots ranging from drives to square cuts and pulls with the ProVelocity bat.

Julian Wood has previously worked with England’s batsmen on power-hitting batting. He taught England’s players hitting techniques, which significantly improved their performance. Regarding the Asia Cup 2025, Bangladesh is scheduled to play their first match on September 11th against Hong Kong. They are in a group with Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
