In Rajnandgaon, a devastating incident occurred late at night on the national highway near the Indamara intersection. An unidentified truck struck a group of cattle that were resting on the road, resulting in the death of nine animals, including cows and calves. The truck was traveling at a high speed, causing the collision to be particularly severe. The incident took place around 2:30 AM. The animals were reportedly sitting near a roadside ढाबा when the speeding truck, while attempting to overtake, crashed into them. The impact was so intense that the cattle were dragged along the road for some distance. Upon receiving the report, CSP Pushpendra Nayak and the municipal corporation team arrived at the scene. The deceased animals were subsequently buried with respect. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the truck and its driver.
