A five-year-old child was attacked by three stray dogs in Udaipur, Rajasthan, prompting the child’s father to voice support for the Supreme Court’s stance on the issue of stray dogs. Dinesh Sahu, the father, stated that the dogs were dragging his son, who sustained injuries requiring medical attention. The incident has instilled fear in the community, with children now hesitant to play outside or attend school. Sahu hopes that those protesting the Supreme Court’s directives are shown videos of such attacks to understand the severity of the problem. The child’s mother, Preeti Sahu, recounted the incident, which occurred on August 14th, explaining how she witnessed the attack and reported it to Animal Aid, though the dogs were not immediately removed. She emphasized the increasing number of dog attacks and urged the government to ensure children’s safety.
