Former US President Donald Trump has signaled a shift in his stance on the war in Ukraine, suggesting that the country should be allowed to actively counter Russian aggression. He stated that it’s exceedingly difficult to win a war without attacking the invading nation. Trump criticized the current administration, accusing President Joe Biden of incompetence for not allowing Ukraine to fully defend itself, and implied that the conflict would not have occurred during his presidency. These remarks come after a recent meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump, which failed to yield any immediate ceasefire agreements. Trump has also indicated his willingness to participate in a trilateral meeting with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the near future. Furthermore, he has hinted at US involvement in providing security guarantees for Ukraine, though specific details remain unclear, with the White House ruling out the deployment of US troops.
