Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, the sequel to Happy Bhag Jayegi, was released on August 24, 2018. The film, featuring Sonakshi Sinha in place of Diana Penty, highlighted a familiar theme: the people in China, not Pakistan, share similarities with us. In a past interview, Mudassar Aziz revealed he found his voice through his work. He expressed his satisfaction with Happy Bhag Jayegi promoting peace with Pakistan, and with its sequel, created a lighthearted comedy that avoided demonizing any neighboring country. He believes in the importance of fostering harmony globally. The filmmakers acknowledged the perceived threat of China to India but saw China as an unexplored cinematic location, with few films having been set there. The production faced limitations, with only some scenes filmed in China; the majority were filmed in Kuala Lumpur, which was portrayed as China. Aziz views cinema as a tool for peace. He pointed out that many films focus on terror and terrorism, often portraying Pakistan as the enemy. He emphasized that Pakistan and China have rich histories that extend beyond conflict. He hopes audiences appreciated the humorous depiction of China in Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, just as they did the portrayal of Pakistan in the earlier film, advocating for a shift from cinematic narratives of war to those of peace.
