Terrorism continues to plague Pakistan. Militant groups are increasingly targeting both civilians and the Pakistani army. In two separate terrorist attacks in the northwestern border province of Pakistan, at least five security personnel were killed and 17 others were injured.

The attacks occurred in the region bordering Afghanistan, an area known for its sensitivity and a history of such incidents.

    **Attack on Army Camp**

In the Hangu district’s Tora Warai area, terrorists attacked a Frontier Constabulary (FC) post late Sunday night. Three FC soldiers were martyred in this attack, and 17 others were injured. Earlier on Sunday, in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district, terrorists opened fire on security forces, resulting in the deaths of two more security personnel. The rise in such incidents is once again raising questions about security.

    **Security Forces Eliminate Five Terrorists**

In another incident, five terrorists were killed in a joint operation by the police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Upper Dir district. During this operation, one civilian was also killed, and seven police officers were injured. The police recovered the body of one terrorist on Sunday night, and four more bodies were found on Monday. The injured police officers have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Search operations are ongoing in the Dobando, Birkot, Salam Kot, and Atrandra areas of Upper Dir to eliminate terrorists.

**Attacks Increasing on the Afghanistan Border**

These incidents occurred amidst a surge in terrorist attacks across Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Pakistan shares a long border with Afghanistan. According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), a think tank based in Islamabad, there were 78 terrorist attacks in the country in June, resulting in a total of 175 deaths.
