Before entering the acting world, she interned with ad film director Prahlad Kakkar and worked on various modeling projects. It was during this time that Salman Khan offered her a film, an opportunity she embraced.
Raveena herself recounted the details of her first meeting with Salman Khan in an interview. At the time, she was interning. Salman, having achieved stardom after the blockbuster ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989), had already established himself. Their first meeting took place after his debut.
Raveena explained that when a model was unavailable, Prahlad Kakkar would ask her to wear the costumes and do the shoot. During a shoot in Bandra, she received a call from her friend Bunty, who was also a friend of Salman Khan. Bunty suggested that Raveena meet them if she was nearby. When Raveena met Bunty, Salman was present as well. Salman was then looking for a new actress for his film ‘Patthar Ke Phool’.
During the meeting, Salman Khan selected Raveena for his film, and she accepted the offer, marking her entry into Bollywood. The film was released in 1991, and it helped Raveena gain recognition in Bollywood. Salman and Raveena later worked together in films such as ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ (1994) and ‘Kehi Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye’ (2000).
