During a voter rights yatra in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav announced his candidacy for Chief Minister in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. He criticized the current government, stating, “This government is a copycat government, Tejashwi is ahead, the government is behind.” He then asked the crowd if they wanted a ‘duplicate CM’ or the ‘original CM’. Akhilesh Yadav, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, also participated in the yatra. Addressing the public, he emphasized the national significance of the Bihar elections and the need to oust the BJP and its allies. He expressed confidence that the enthusiasm would lead to the BJP’s defeat. He mentioned the successful efforts to defeat the BJP in Awadh, urging similar responsibility in Magadh. Yadav predicted the BJP’s exit from Bihar, accusing the party of exploiting and ruining people. He criticized the Election Commission, alleging it works in cahoots with the BJP and referred to its decisions as ‘stubborn’. He highlighted Tejashwi Yadav’s efforts in providing jobs to those who migrated. He asserted that the India alliance would counter the BJP’s divisive strategies. He recalled Bihar’s previous role in halting the BJP’s progress, and reiterated his complete support for Tejashwi. He also criticized the BJP’s policies, mentioning the plight of farmers and the impact of these policies on the nation.
