    Chinese Foreign Minister and member of the Communist Party of China’s Politburo, Wang Yi, visited India from August 18-19, 2025, at the invitation of NSA Ajit Doval. During the visit, Doval and Wang co-chaired the 24th round of Special Representatives’ talks on the border dispute on August 19. Wang also met with S. Jaishankar and Prime Minister Modi. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) provided detailed information on the visit, including key agreements reached.

    India and China acknowledged the maintenance of peace and stability in border areas since the 23rd round of talks. They agreed to establish an expert group and a working group under the framework of consultation and coordination on border affairs. The border management system at diplomatic and military levels will be activated. The next round of talks will be held in China. Bilateral relations were also a point of agreement during Wang’s visit, with several important issues discussed during the meeting between Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Wang Yi.
