A group of 28 female students from various government schools in the district embarked on an educational tour to ISRO. Upon their return, the students met with Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi at his residence on Sunday, participating in a luncheon. The students recounted their experiences from the three-day trip, describing it as a transformative opportunity. They highlighted the unique and unforgettable nature of the experience, which included their first time traveling outside their village, flying on a plane, visiting an airport, exploring a new state, and gaining a deeper understanding of the worlds of science, technology, art, and culture. The visit to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at ISRO in Sriharikota was a major highlight, filled with a sense of pride and inspiration derived from observing the satellite launch process and the work of scientists. Visits to Mahabalipuram, museums, and historical sites in Chennai provided insights into Indian culture. The technical innovations at the RMK Institute of Engineering campus offered an educational and inspiring experience. The students also learned about discipline and cooperation from students at the Model School in Kovalam. Additionally, visits to the MA Chidambaram Stadium and the Railway Museum provided valuable information on sports and Indian railway history. The trip broadened their perspectives, feeling like a dream come true. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi commended the students’ enthusiasm and confidence, emphasizing that the educational excursion was an opportunity to shape their dreams. He added that this convergence of science, culture, and technology would not only enlighten the students but also instill confidence in them. He expressed confidence that these students would become scientists, technical experts, and inspiring figures in society. Present at the event were Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, DTO Dhananjay, outgoing Executive Magistrate cum DTO Dumka Mrityunjay Kumar, along with teachers and other dignitaries.
