An MoU was signed in Patna between the Bihar government and Kumar Infratech for the construction of three new five-star hotels. The announcement was made in the presence of Bihar’s Tourism Minister, Raju Kumar Singh. The state government plans to build these hotels through public-private partnerships to provide comfortable accommodation for tourists in Patna. The first hotel will be constructed on the land of Hotel Patliputra Ashok by the renowned ITC Hotel Group over the next four years. An agreement was signed between ITC Hotels and BSTDC for this purpose. This marks a historic moment for Bihar. The hotel, to be built on 1.5 acres of land, will have a minimum of 140 rooms. The selection of Kumar Infratech Enterprises Private Limited, Patna, for the five-star hotel on the land of Hotel Patliputra Ashok was preceded by a Letter of Award. The agency has chosen ITC to operate the top luxury five-star hotel. Bids for the construction of a five-star hotel at the Bankipur Bus Stand complex in Gandhi Maidan are in the final stages. A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Department of Art, Culture and Youth to examine the construction of a five-star hotel on the land of Sultan Palace on Birchand Patel Path, considering its heritage building. The process of selecting companies for the construction of a five-star hotel will be completed after the committee’s report. Additionally, the construction of two five-star hotels in Rajgir and one in Vaishali is underway. Companies that meet the criteria for constructing a five-star hotel will be included in the bidding process for the guest house built by the Building Construction Department in Valmiki Nagar. Kumar Infratech director Manish Kumar mentioned that ITC Hotels has started operating in Bodh Gaya, and an agreement is being signed in Patna with ITC. Anil Chaddha of the ITC group stated that the five-star hotel will be completed within the stipulated four-year timeframe. The event was attended by dignitaries, including Nandkishore, Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation; Udayan Mishra, Director of Tourism and Special Secretary; and Chandan Chauhan, General Manager of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation, along with other departmental officials and employees.
