Carlos Alcaraz continued his strong performance at the 2025 US Open with a decisive quarter-final victory on Tuesday. He secured a straight-sets win against Jiri Lehecka, earning a spot in the semi-finals and staying on course to claim his first hard-court Grand Slam title since 2022. The 22-year-old delivered a 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 victory in under two hours, maintaining his perfect record of not dropping a set throughout the tournament. He is set to face either four-time champion Novak Djokovic or last year’s finalist Taylor Fritz in the upcoming match. When asked if he watches his highlights, Alcaraz responded with a smile, sharing that he sometimes sees them when visiting his living room, as his younger brothers watch them. He added that reviewing his shots reminds him during matches. Alcaraz also stated that he doesn’t focus too much on the No. 1 ranking to avoid unnecessary pressure, preferring to concentrate on his game and enjoying the experience. With 59 match wins and six titles in 2025, Alcaraz is on track for a career-best season, potentially surpassing his 2023 record of 65 wins and six trophies.
