A disturbing video from Mahubabad town in Telangana depicts a physical altercation between two women over bags of urea. The incident took place in front of the Agros Rythu Seva Kendra at Vivekananda centre. The video has drawn the attention of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The footage shows the women pulling each other’s hair and exchanging blows on a public road before two men intervened to separate them. Surprisingly, onlookers on the road were seen cheering and whistling during the fight instead of attempting to mediate.
The fight reportedly started after farmers had queued with photocopies of their Aadhaar cards to obtain fertilizer bags. The resulting jostling quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. The video of the incident rapidly went viral on social media.
In response to the viral video, CM Revanth Reddy commented on the situation, noting that although urea stocks are available, the length of the queue can create the illusion of scarcity and cause confusion. He stated that a large crowd in one place can make the line appear long even when supplies are sufficient. He compared it to a popular movie where everyone gets a ticket, but the queue makes it seem like the experience will never end.
Reddy further added that prolonged waiting times can lead to frustration, exacerbating the situation. He explained that if 1,000 people are waiting in line, the last person might have to wait eight hours. Without patience, this long wait can breed frustration, leading to claims of urea unavailability and potential protests.
In another video from the same district, farmers were seen swarming an Agro center owner on Saturday, September 6, who was distributing tokens for urea. This incident happened in Nellikudur mandal of Mahabubabad. The video showed a large group of farmers surrounding and pulling at the owner to obtain the tokens. As the situation seemed to spiral out of control, the agro center owner began throwing the tokens in an attempt to disengage from the crowd.
