    Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressed the Virat Sanskrit Vidvat-Sammelan held in Raipur on Sunday, September 7th, 2025. He shared his views on Sanskrit, an ancient language, emphasizing its significance in Indian culture. The Chief Minister stated that Sanskrit is the soul of Indian culture, providing a unique identity on the global stage. He highlighted that Sanskrit is the foundation of grammar, philosophy, and science, promoting logical thinking. CM Sai also noted the relevance and utility of Sanskrit education in the modern era. He emphasized that the language and its literature are the basis of India’s heritage, which should be preserved and enhanced. He described the conference as an effort to strengthen Indian culture, traditions, and the nation through discussions on the divine language of Sanskrit. He praised the efforts of Sanskrit Bharati Chhattisgarh and the Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh in preserving and promoting the Sanskrit language.

    CM Sai also mentioned that including Sanskrit in modern education would ensure the intellectual development of students. He pointed out that Sanskrit contains a vast repository of texts like the Vedas, Upanishads, and Puranas, conveying messages of philosophy, science, and life values. He noted the continued relevance of Ayurveda, mathematics, and astrology, as described in the Vedas, which can be subjects of research. He further added that principles of Karma, knowledge, and devotion are clearly stated in these texts, offering peace and balance in modern life. Consequently, Sanskrit education remains equally relevant and useful in the modern age.

    The CM further stated that by adopting the knowledge of the Vedas and Upanishads, people can cherish their heritage and enrich their lives. He encouraged connecting the youth with Sanskrit literature so they can pass on the knowledge to future generations. He added that technology could make Sanskrit education attractive and relevant. Concrete steps can be taken in this direction with the active participation of Sanskrit scholars and teachers in the state. He called for a commitment to promote Sanskrit education and connect the next generation through this conference.

    During the event, Chief Minister Sai also released a promotional brochure from the Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha, Chhattisgarh. The Virat Sanskrit Vidvat-Sammelan was organized jointly by Sanskrit Bharati Chhattisgarh and Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh.

    Addressing the conference, Dr. Dadu Bhai Tripathi, the State President of Sanskrit Bharati, mentioned that there are many proofs in history that show Sanskrit was once a popular language. He further added that Chhattisgarhi has a direct connection with Sanskrit. Many of the roots of Panini’s grammar are directly used in Chhattisgarhi. He also revealed that the maximum number of tribal students are studying Sanskrit in the Surguja region.

    Chief Minister Sai honored people from the Sarayupareen Brahmin Samaj who have made significant contributions in various fields. These included Dr. Ashlesha Shukla, a specialist in arthritis, Anant Dwivedi, an outstanding swimmer, and Prof. Sachchidanand Shukla, the Vice-Chancellor of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University.

    The conference was also addressed by Dandi Swami Dr. Indubhavanand Maharaj, Dr. Suresh Shukla, President of Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh, and Dr. Shriram Mahadev, the chief of All India Sanskrit Bharati teaching. Dr. Satendra Singh Sengar, Ajay Tiwari, Badrprasad Gupta, along with a large number of Sanskrit teachers, social representatives, and dignitaries were present.
