    The monsoon has reactivated across Chhattisgarh, including the capital city of Raipur. Various parts of the state experienced light to moderate rainfall on Thursday, leading to a drop in temperatures. The Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rainfall and potential lightning strikes in several areas on Friday. The department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in districts across the Bastar and Surguja divisions. Raipur, Bilaspur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Jashpur, Koriya, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Surajpur, Sarguja, Korba, Balrampur, Raigarh, Jashpur, Bijapur, and Dantewada are under a yellow alert for heavy rain. An orange alert has been issued for Rajnandgaon, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, and Mungeli, anticipating thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. The state has received an average of 994 mm of rainfall during this monsoon season, approximately 87% of the annual average. Balrampur district has received the highest rainfall with 1344.5 mm, while Bemetara has received the lowest at 472 mm. A monsoon trough extends from Sri Ganganagar to the Bay of Bengal, contributing to the increased rainfall activity.
