Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government has demonstrated its commitment to public health and safety during the challenging aftermath of floods. In affected areas, the number of individuals benefiting from health camps saw a dramatic increase. On September 16, approximately 51,000 people received assistance, with the figure escalating to 1.5 lakh just a day later. This significant surge reflects the government’s swift comprehension of the crisis and its immediate deployment of resources. This swift action has reassured affected families that the government is dedicated to providing unwavering support.

Chief Minister Mann issued clear instructions to the Health and Family Welfare Department, emphasizing that no one should be denied essential healthcare. Recognizing the increased health risks associated with floods, the government prioritized ensuring that all citizens receive necessary medical attention. This has resulted in timely aid and treatment for thousands, effectively mitigating the potential for disease outbreaks.

A special health campaign, launched on September 14, focused on controlling post-flood diseases, delivering primary healthcare directly to people’s homes, and safeguarding the elderly, pregnant women, and children. The Chief Minister ensured that state-level plans were rapidly implemented in villages, leading to a record number of beneficiaries from the health camps within a short period.
