Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has a history of playful banter with Pakistan. Even after retiring from cricket, Pathan continues to seize opportunities to tease Pakistan, and he did not miss his chance after India’s victory over Pakistan in the Super-4 match of the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on September 21st. His joy was evident as he posted three tweets within a minute following Pakistan’s loss, one of which was a clear jab at the neighboring country.

Pathan’s first post, made at 12:00 AM, celebrated Tilak Varma’s performance. The second post, made shortly after, praised Team India’s superior class. The third post, made at 12:01 AM, was a direct dig, though he didn’t mention Pakistan by name. He wrote, “Hanji, kesa raha sunday?” (How was Sunday?). Pathan has previously targeted Pakistan, leading to reactions from former Pakistani cricketers. India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in the Super-4 match of the Asia Cup 2025.
