Thane Metro Lines 4 and 4A Trial Run Successful, Set to Benefit Commuters

A successful trial run was conducted on a 10-kilometer stretch of Thane Metro Lines 4 and 4A, between Cadbury Junction and Kasarvadavali. The test run was observed by key officials, including Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This project aims to significantly reduce travel times within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The Chief Minister announced the successful completion of the trials, stating that approximately 13 to 14 lakh commuters are expected to utilize the metro daily. He highlighted the substantial progress in metro construction within Maharashtra. The Mumbai Metro Line 4, spanning 32.32 km with 30 stations, will provide connectivity to the Eastern Express Roadway, Central Railway, Mono Rail, and ongoing Metro Lines 2B, 5, and 6. This will provide rail-based access to commercial centers, government offices, and landmarks within Mumbai. The route will cut travel times significantly. Furthermore, Metro Line 4A, a 2.7 km elevated extension, will further reduce travel times on the Kasarvadavali to Gaimukh route. The Thane Metro is poised to offer faster and more economical transport options, benefiting commuters, particularly students and office workers. The administration aims to complete this metro line by the end of 2026.
