As preparations for the Bihar Assembly elections commence, Alka Lamba, the National President of the National Women’s Congress, has launched a strong criticism against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. She asserted that women’s trust in Kumar has eroded and that Bihar now desires change. She anticipates a significant shift in the upcoming elections.

Lamba also shared details of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s upcoming visit to Bihar on Friday. The focus of Gandhi’s visit will be on engaging with women voters and addressing women’s issues in collaboration with the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance). Following a program at Sadaqat Ashram, Priyanka Gandhi will travel by helicopter to Motihari, where she will address a major rally. The rally will emphasize issues such as women’s empowerment, inflation, and unemployment.

Gandhi’s first stop will be at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna, where she will hold a joint dialogue with women leaders and activists from all the constituent parties of the Mahagathbandhan. The Women’s Congress believes that this dialogue will strengthen the changing attitude of women in Bihar politics.

Alka Lamba stated that women once stood with Nitish Kumar, but the situation has changed. According to her, Nitish Kumar is no longer the same and women’s trust in him has diminished. Women are no longer supporting him, and they are unhappy with him. She predicted a major transformation in the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, predicting a resounding defeat for the NDA.

Lamba also responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent announcement of providing 10,000 rupees to women, suggesting it was a reaction to the Congress’s earlier announcements for women. She asserted that the women of Bihar are wise and will not be swayed by such inducements.
