    During the silver jubilee celebration of the Chhattisgarh High Court, Governor Rameen Deka emphasized that the court’s role in a democratic system is most significant when justice is accessible to the village, the poor, and the common people. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai stated that the government is committed to providing timely justice, along with infrastructure and resource availability. A souvenir was released at the event to mark the silver jubilee. The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the guests. Judges of the High Court felicitated the Governor, Chief Minister, and Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu with plants and mementos. Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Finance Minister OP Chaudhary, Law Minister Gajendra Yadav, and former Governor Ramesh Bais were also present.

    Governor Deka expressed his honor in addressing the gathering. He highlighted the establishment of the Chhattisgarh High Court in 2000, coinciding with the formation of the new state. He noted that since its inception, the High Court has stood as an interpreter of the constitution, a protector of civil rights, and a vigilant guardian of justice. The Governor also praised the court for the prompt resolution of pending cases through Lok Adalat and emphasized the need to reduce the backlog to provide swift justice to the public.

    Chief Minister Sai acknowledged the silver jubilee of both the state and the High Court, extending his congratulations. He stated that the Chhattisgarh High Court has given a new identity to the city of Bilaspur. He paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose vision enabled the establishment of the state and the High Court. Chief Minister Sai highlighted the government’s commitment to providing timely justice with increased budgetary allocations to the Law and Legislative Department. He also mentioned the rise in interest among the youth towards the law profession, leading to new career opportunities. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has replaced the outdated Indian Penal Code with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, emphasizing justice over punishment, and incorporating modern technological changes, including those related to forensic science. Justice JK Maheshwari of the Supreme Court spoke about the importance of justice and dharma, urging for thoughtful planning for the next 25 years. Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu acknowledged the court’s contribution to upholding the constitution and democracy. Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court, Ramesh Sinha, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the court. Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal presented the vote of thanks. The event was attended by many dignitaries, including judges, advocates, and government officials.
