India has clinched the Asia Cup title for the ninth time, defeating Pakistan in the final with a margin of 5 wickets. After winning the toss, India chose to bowl, restricting Pakistan to 146 runs. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets. India chased down the target of 147 runs in the fourth ball of the 20th over, with Rinku Singh hitting the winning boundary and Tilak Varma remaining unbeaten with 69 runs. Meanwhile, Nepal’s interim government has imposed a travel ban on former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and four others following an investigation into violent protests. These protests, which took place on September 8-9, resulted in 72 fatalities. The investigation committee has been given three months to submit its report. Additionally, actor-turned-politician Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), has approached the Madras High Court, seeking a CBI or SIT investigation into the Karur stampede incident, which resulted in 40 deaths and numerous injuries. Separately, the father of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, Balkaur Singh, has announced his intention to contest the upcoming Punjab assembly elections. He stated his commitment to fulfilling his son’s unfulfilled aspirations.
