The clash between Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ on October 2nd is intensifying. Advance booking figures reveal a clear picture of which film is likely to have a stronger opening day. While the makers of ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ might have anticipated Rishab Shetty’s film to be a major contender, the competition seems to be becoming one-sided. The phenomenal response to Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara’ has made audiences eagerly await this film, especially given its impressive trailer and visual effects. Let’s delve into the advance booking details to see how ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ and ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ are faring.

Recent reports from Sacnilk indicate that ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is currently lagging. The film has earned a total of ₹1.01 crore, including blocked seats. Excluding blocked seats, the gross collection is ₹26.97 lakh, with 5,188 tickets sold for the first day across 1,597 shows. The current promotion is not generating expected numbers which means a big loss is possible.

On the other hand, Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1,’ being a pan-Indian film, is expected to have a higher collection. Advance bookings reflect this trend, with the film earning ₹4.77 crore from advance bookings for the first day and a total of ₹8.11 crore including blocked seats. A total of 1,31,470 tickets have been sold. The Kannada film industry is providing the strongest response. Currently, 10,000 tickets have been sold in Hindi, generating a business of ₹28 lakh.

Compared to the previous film, the budget of Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has significantly increased, with a reported budget of ₹125 crore. ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is budgeted at ₹80 crore.
