Prashant Kishor Reveals Funding Sources for Jan Suraaj, Claims Earnings of ₹241 Crore

As Bihar’s election season intensifies, accusations and counter-accusations are becoming commonplace. Prashant Kishor, who has been running the Jan Suraaj campaign in Bihar for the past two years and officially launched his political party of the same name on October 2nd of the previous year, is now addressing questions about his funding. Kishor, who has promised to make Bihar corruption-free and provide employment, has faced allegations, including claims that he is an agent of the BJP. Questions have also been raised about the financial backing of his extensive team and promotional activities. Kishor has now broken his silence on these matters, stating in a press conference that he will disclose the sources of funds for his campaign and how they are utilized. He explained that funds come from various sources, including support from individuals he has helped and fees earned from providing political advice. He mentioned earning ₹241 crore in fees over the past three years, paying ₹30.95 crore in GST and ₹20 crore in income tax, and donating ₹98 crore to the party. Kishor plans to field the Jan Suraaj party in all 243 assembly seats in Bihar. His rallies criticize both the opposition and the ruling parties. Critics suggest he is acting as a B-team for the BJP, while he asserts that Jan Suraaj offers a new alternative for the people of Bihar.
