A court in Goa has issued an order prohibiting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh from making any statements against Sulakshana Sawant, the wife of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The court stated that Singh should refrain from making any comments until the defamation case filed against him is resolved. Sulakshana Sawant, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), had filed a defamation suit against Sanjay Singh, seeking ₹100 crore in damages. This legal action followed Singh’s allegations of corruption against her.

According to an interim order by Ad-Hoc Civil Judge (Senior Division) Anuradha Andrade of Bicholim, Sanjay Singh, his associates, supporters, or anyone else are restrained from making statements that could harm Sulakshana Sawant’s image. The court has imposed this restriction until a final decision is reached in the case.

Sulakshana Sawant alleged that Sanjay Singh made false and baseless statements to damage her and her family’s reputation. During a press conference in Delhi on December 4th, Sanjay Singh claimed that jobs were being sold in Goa and implicated the Chief Minister’s wife, state ministers, and their close associates.

Sanjay Singh’s lawyer, Surel Tilve, stated that an affidavit has been submitted to the court, confirming that his client will not make any further statements on the matter until the trial concludes. They will decide whether to appeal after receiving a copy of the order.
