The central government is contemplating measures to lessen the difficulty level of entrance examinations like JEE and NEET. This initiative aims to decrease students’ dependence on coaching centers. The plan involves aligning the exams more closely with the 12th-grade syllabus, enabling students to prepare effectively through self-study. According to sources, the changes will be based on the recommendations of a review expert panel.

This panel was established to investigate issues related to coaching. It is currently analyzing data to determine whether the difficulty level of the entrance exams matches that of the 12th-grade curriculum. Some parents and coaching center teachers have pointed out significant discrepancies between the two, which has led to an increased reliance on coaching. The expert panel’s feedback will be crucial in reviewing the difficulty level of these entrance exams.
