The public movement that had been ongoing for several days in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK) has come to an end. Following an agreement between the PoK government and the Awami Action Committee (AAC), the government has accepted 21 of the 38 demands. Subsequently, the Awami Action Committee announced the termination of all protests. However, memorial processions will be held for the next three days in remembrance of those who died during the movement.

Under the agreement, the families of those killed in the protests will receive compensation equal to that of government employees, and one member of each family will be offered a job within 20 days. The injured will receive financial assistance of 1 million rupees each. Those responsible for violence and deaths will be prosecuted under anti-terrorism laws, and a judicial inquiry will also be conducted.

Significant decisions have been made by the government in the education sector. Two new boards will be established in PoK: the Intermediate Board and the Higher Secondary Education Board, and all existing boards will be linked to the central education board of Pakistan within 30 days. For health services, CT scan and MRI machines will be installed in each district. Additionally, funds will be released within 15 days for a health card scheme.

The Pakistani government will release 100 million rupees to improve the electricity system in PoK. Land will be given to displaced families in the Mirpur district within 30 days. Bridges will be constructed in Gulpur and Rahman (Kotli), and water supply and transmission lines will be laid in the Dadial area.

The government has decided to reduce the number of ministers and advisors to a maximum of 20. An announcement regarding the plan to build an airport in Mirpur will be made soon. The property transfer tax will be aligned with the rates in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The 2019 High Court decision related to hydroelectric projects will be implemented. All protesters arrested on October 2nd and 3rd in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be released. Furthermore, the transport policy related to 1300cc vehicles will also be reviewed.
