Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has taken action following the deaths of several children in Chhindwara due to a cough syrup. Most of the affected children were under the age of five. CM Yadav expressed his sorrow over the deaths and announced a ban on the sale of the syrup, Coldrif, across Madhya Pradesh. Furthermore, a ban has been placed on the sale of other products from the same company.

Reports indicate that multiple children in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan became ill after consuming the cough syrup, with 12 children succumbing to their illnesses. The majority of the fatalities occurred in Madhya Pradesh. The government had sent the cough syrup, which caused the illnesses, for investigation.

CM Mohan Yadav shared a post on social media expressing his grief over the deaths in Chhindwara caused by Coldrif syrup. He stated that the sale of the syrup has been banned throughout Madhya Pradesh, and a ban is also being imposed on the sale of other products from the manufacturing company. The CM mentioned that the factory producing the syrup is located in Kanchipuram. Consequently, the state government had requested the Tamil Nadu government to conduct an investigation. The investigation report was received this morning, leading to strict action based on the findings. Local-level action was already underway following the tragic deaths, and a state-level team has been formed to investigate the matter further. The CM assured that those responsible would not be spared.

Minister Vishwas Sarang Singh also commented on the action taken against the Coldrif cough syrup, stating that the ban was implemented in the state on the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Action was taken immediately after the investigation. The minister emphasized that no medicines that adversely affect patients will be permitted for sale in Madhya Pradesh. He added that strict action has been ordered against those responsible for the incident.
