Earlier celebrations in New Zealand included an event hosted by the Bank of New Zealand in Wellington, attended by various dignitaries including opposition leader Chris Hipkins, MPs Melissa Lee and Priyanca Radhakrishnan, and Indian High Commissioner Neeta Bhushan, underscoring the growing partnership between India and New Zealand. The iconic Beehive, New Zealand’s Parliament building, also hosted a Diwali celebration, with Prime Minister Luxon participating in the festivities, further strengthening cultural ties.
