The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has unveiled its comprehensive ‘Sankalp Patra’ for Bihar, outlining ambitious plans focused on employment, economic development, and infrastructure enhancement. A cornerstone of the manifesto is the pledge to generate over one crore government jobs for the state’s youth. To support marginalized communities, the NDA promises Rs 10 lakh in financial aid for members of the Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) and plans to establish a commission headed by a Supreme Court judge to address their needs.

In terms of economic growth, the manifesto details the creation of 10 new industrial parks and the establishment of factories in every district to foster local employment. A significant initiative for women empowerment includes the goal of making one crore women ‘Lakhpati Didis’. Farmers are set to benefit from an increase in the annual Kisan Samman Nidhi from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000, alongside a guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops.

Infrastructure development is a key focus, with plans for international airports in Patna, Darbhanga, Purnia, and Bhagalpur. Furthermore, metro rail projects are slated to commence in Patna, Gaya, Purnia, and Bhagalpur, aiming to modernize urban transportation. Educational initiatives include residential schools for SC/ST students in every division, a Rs 2,000 monthly stipend for higher education students, and the establishment of medical colleges in every district. Social welfare provisions include Rs 10 lakh aid for Scheduled Castes and EBCs, construction of 50 lakh new houses, and free electricity up to 125 units, alongside expanded social security pensions.
