Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially inaugurated the new Chhattisgarh legislative assembly building in Nava Raipur, marking what he described as the dawn of a golden age for the state’s development. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister highlighted the significant contributions of Chhattisgarh’s leaders to drafting the Indian Constitution under the guidance of Dr. BR Ambedkar. He spoke of a ‘special connection’ to the state, calling its people a ‘great blessing’ that has influenced his life. Modi emphasized India’s status as the ‘mother of democracy’ and noted that 2025 will be a significant ‘Amrit Varsh’ for the nation. He shared his personal experience witnessing Chhattisgarh’s transformation from its inception to its current progress, extending his felicitations to the state’s residents. The Prime Minister also paid a heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, crediting his vision for the state’s establishment 25 years ago. The unveiling of Vajpayee’s statue alongside the new assembly complex, Modi stated, signifies the realization of his dreams for Chhattisgarh’s growth. He asserted that Vajpayee’s decision to form Chhattisgarh was not just administrative but a move to unlock new developmental pathways and honor the state’s unique identity. The new Vidhan Sabha complex, a sprawling 51-acre facility built at a cost of Rs 324 crore, is intended to represent Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage and forward-looking spirit.
