Chhattisgarh has revolutionized its Goods and Services Tax (GST) payment system, introducing credit card, debit card, and UPI as viable options. This significant move, spearheaded by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Finance Minister OP Choudhary, aims to streamline tax filing for businesses across the state. Previously, taxpayers were confined to net banking and over-the-counter payments, a system that often presented challenges, especially for new and small enterprises. The new digital payment gateway, accessible via the official GST portal (www.gst.gov.in), promises a faster, more transparent, and user-friendly experience. This initiative directly addresses long-standing demands from trade bodies, seeking to enhance the ease of doing business, reduce transaction failures, and foster a more robust, trust-based tax ecosystem in Chhattisgarh. The government anticipates improved departmental efficiency and revenue collection as a result of this modernization.
