Shocking CCTV footage has emerged, meticulously documenting the exact instant a white Hyundai i20 detonated on a bustling street adjacent to Delhi’s historic Red Fort. This explosion, which occurred just two days after a similar incident claimed nine lives and injured dozens, highlights the city’s vulnerability. The newly released video, captured by a traffic camera near Gate Number 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, shows the vehicle slowly navigating through dense traffic, including e-rickshaws and auto-rickshaws. Suddenly, at approximately 6:52 pm on Monday, the car erupted into a catastrophic blaze. The blast inflicted severe damage on surrounding vehicles and nearby structures, sending shockwaves through the densely populated Old Delhi area. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken the lead in investigating this event, which authorities have definitively classified as a ‘heinous terror act.’ The visual evidence clearly depicts the car inching through heavy congestion before being consumed by flames. Emergency responders were prompt, but the vehicle was reduced to ashes. Officials have confirmed nine fatalities, with at least twelve individuals sustaining injuries. Investigations have pinpointed the vehicle as a white Hyundai i20, registered under HR 26CE7674. Evidence suggests it was driven by Dr. Umar Nabi, a 32-year-old medical professional reportedly connected to a terror network with ties to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Preliminary reports indicate Dr. Nabi acquired the i20 on October 29th from a dealer in Faridabad. Subsequent CCTV analysis shows Nabi visiting a PUC center shortly after the purchase. He then reportedly drove to Al-Falah Medical College, parking near the vehicle of Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, who has since been arrested concerning a massive explosives seizure. The recovered vehicle was registered to Dr. Shaheen Saeed, also taken into custody for alleged terror affiliations. Surveillance footage traced the Hyundai i20 through various Delhi locations before it reached the Sunehri Masjid parking lot in Chandni Chowk. The vehicle remained parked for over three hours before proceeding towards Netaji Subhash Marg, the road leading to the Red Fort, where the devastating explosion occurred amidst evening traffic.
