Most concerning is the revelation that some high-ranking police officials, benefiting financially from illicit coal trade, have allegedly tasked operatives with eliminating key figures connected to the coal mafia. This directive aims to silence individuals who could expose the truth. Information suggests that plots are being hatched to murder those currently being interrogated by the ED, ensuring that crucial information remains buried. This echoes a past pattern in the state where ‘encountering evidence’ was disguised as apprehending criminals. Jharkhand has a history of a DGP accused of orchestrating targeted killings for hire, facing allegations of unprecedented corruption even from ruling party members.
